A Legacy Of Mindful Craftsmanship

Committed to making dream homes come true through high quality custom cabinetry and service since 1970.

Faithfully serving others with integrity, respect, and high quality cabinetry.

Since day one, we have aspired to inspire – dedicated to helping homeowners transform their spaces into havens. Our journey began with a humble but visionary founder committed to using his skills to make a positive impact in his community. His simple mission has shaped our processes, our product, and our culture at Columbia Cabinets over the years.  Today, though our customers are far and wide, we’re still that family-owned and operated cabinet company with an unwavering commitment to people, through faithful service, mindful craftsmanship, and a limited lifetime warranty.

Blending the latest advancements in technology and sustainability with attentive craftsmanship honed through decades of experience, our skilled team creates custom cabinetry without compromise.  We appreciate the significant investment you’re making in your home with our cabinets, which is why every Columbia product is thoughtfully crafted for you with care not only for maximum functionality and durability, but timeless beauty that is second-to-none.

Building a legacy of service.

1970s

After immigrating to Canada with his family , Peter Loewen started Columbia Cabinets out of his garage on Columbia St. in Abbotsford, BC, Canada with the simple mission of using his skills to create good in his community. Word about Peter’s fervor for quality and top level service quickly spread. As demand for his cabinets grew, the company expanded into larger warehouses in 1973, 1975 and 1978, allowing Columbia Cabinets to meet the increasing needs of customers, and create valuable job opportunities in the community.

1980s

Peter thought the newest shop – 25,000 sq. ft. – would serve us for  a long time, but the demand for Columbia’s quality craftsmanship continued to  grow, and along with it, so did the team and warehouse space. Operations moved to our current facility on Townline Road, which was expanded several times over the next decade.  Always responsive to the requests of our customers, we enhanced our product offering by adding a counter department to complement the custom home cabinets being created.

1990s

Providing custom cabinetry that resonates with the stories and style of our customers means leading the industry with new trends. In the early 1990s, Columbia Cabinets released a new style of cabinets—frameless cabinetry.

2000s

Columbia Cabinets embraced a new chapter by evolving from a retail cabinet company to the dealer model present today. This strategic shift allowed us to meet growing demand more effectively and expand our reach, connecting with new clients while continuing to uphold our high standards of quality.

2010s

With rising demand for custom cabinetry, we chose to focus on our expertise in skilled cabinetmaking. By selling our countertop division, we deepened our commitment to innovation and concentrated on creating increasingly personalized storage solutions, helping homeowners tailor their spaces to their needs.

2024 and Beyond

While staying true to our founding values and industry-leading customer service, we blend decades of expertise with the latest industry advancements to continually refine our time-honored practices. Our commitment to staying current with manufacturing technologies, sustainability, and industry trends ensures we provide clients with attractive, intelligent storage solutions that fit today’s diverse lifestyles and tastes. From eco-friendly materials and cabinets designed for aging-in-place, to modern finishes and cabinets for uses you never thought possible, Columbia Cabinets offers limitless opportunities to personalize your space. Like our founder, Peter, who created Columbia’s first cabinets over 50 years ago, we meticulously craft each product to optimize your space and enhance your life with beauty, functionality, and value for years to come.

Through continued local and global charity work, we faithfully serve others.

Manufacturing is our business, but central to our purpose has always been helping others. Inspired by our founder Peter Loewen, giving back is a fundamental part of our mission, reflecting our deep connection to and responsibility for communities, both at home and far beyond our backyard. We support charities dedicated to enhancing the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of individuals, aiming to create lasting, positive change through compassion and empowerment.

    Helping Our Community

Our role in the community goes beyond being just a cabinet manufacturer; we recognize the profound impact that lending a hand can have on those in need. We are honored to support local charities such as Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, a remarkable sanctuary for children and families facing life-limiting illnesses, and Cyrus Centre, which tirelessly helps at-risk youth find safety, guidance, and a brighter future. Just as Cyrus Centre fosters hope and security, Canuck Place embodies compassionate care, providing a nurturing environment where families can find solace amid their challenges. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, helps lighten the burden of adversity and fosters unity, strengthening our bonds and our community as a whole.

    Helping Abroad

At Columbia Cabinets, we believe our responsibilities extend beyond our local community to embrace our global family. That’s why we are proud to support Casa De Luz, an incredible organization in Mexico dedicated to providing shelter, education, and holistic support for single parents and their children in need. Casa De Luz not only offers a safe haven but also empowers families through educational programs, emotional support, and community resources, helping them build brighter futures. We aim to help Casa De Luz create welcoming environments that promote stability and a true sense of home for those facing challenges. Our commitment to social responsibility reflects the values of our founder and emphasizes that true success is measured by the positive impact we can create together.

    Donating Cabinetry

As cabinetmakers, we recognize the unique opportunity we have to support charitable organizations with essential storage solutions.  We also believe that cabinetry transcends functionality; it infuses warmth and personality into spaces, making them feel more like home. Each group we partner with plays a vital role in supporting those in need—whether it’s providing mentorship to young people, sheltering vulnerable animals, assisting families in crisis, or offering care and education. In keeping with our culture of faithful service, we’re proud to donate cabinets to organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, the SPCA, the Salvation Army, and Casa De Luz. By doing so, we hope to help them build welcoming spaces that foster growth, comfort, and hope for those they serve.  Together, we strive to create not just well-organized, beautiful places, but a stronger, more resilient, and connected community at home and abroad.

Working together to help support people’s emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
